We use this in our VDI environment but it is now not working and giving a network connection error when trying to schedule a meeting using the add in. Weird thing is, the add in works outside of VDI using local resources on a laptop.
Another test was done using a domain admin account and logging into Outlook using a regular user and the add in worked fine. So, it seems like its based on a windows permissions issue. We have tried allowing modify access to the Zoom folder and the folders associated with Office but it didnt work.
Only the admin account seems to have enough privileges to get the add in to work. We were also able to rule out the firewall by allowing one virtual machine wide open access and we still got the error. Hey victorsmendoza , for the issue with your VDI experience, I'd recommend reaching out to our Zoom technical support and they can further look into your issue.
In the meantime, If possible, please use the latest VDI client and plugin available from this article. If there will be any issues regarding the internet connection from the software side, the troubleshooter should resolve this. Instability in the internet connection can be due to temporary issues in the default DNS servers that your ISP has provided.
In such a case, you can try switching to more reliable DNS serves like Google 8. These DNS servers are not just much more reliable but also free to use.
You can use these DNS serves for the rest of your life for reliability. Once you have successfully switched to the new DNS servers, launch zoom and see if the issue is fixed.

Zoom video conferencing uses a lot of bandwidth. Your device is sending a complex set of data packets to the device of the person you are trying to talk to, their device is sending packets of data to you. If your Wi-Fi connection has a momentary blip or your cellular connection fluctuates, some of the flow of those packets gets interrupted. It can take a few moments for the data to catch up.
It can also lead to Zoom disconnecting. Zoom will perform as good as your Internet can perform.
